About me

Hi everyone my name is Victoria Rojas Recabarren I would like you to know a little about me.. 

I was born in 1992 in Santiago of Chile, I have 20 years old , I'm the third of five children and I'm a student of geography at Universidad de Chile  now I'm in my second year. I'm a doglover!! I have four dogs their names are Tintin, León, Daft and Nico. 

I love traveling I had the opportunity to meet many beautiful places and my favorite was Mexico but especially an island called Cozumel I am totally in love with this country,But especially the history of the country I'm very interest in Maya culture. 

About my hobbies  I love watching movies! my favorites are comedies I don't like action movies or anything like "Lord of the Rings".I love to cook I think I'm good chef but I'm not good playing  instruments, when I was a little girl  I tried with guitars , flutes, violin and never learned ...I think I don't have the gift . 

About my fears  one of my biggest fears is  the ocean I hope that I will never drown ,  always dream about tsunamis and that makes me wake up scared! . I have  afraid of mice I've never seen one.

About my personality I am a very sentimental person  I cry for all. I Also consider myself a very charitable person I learned it from my parents I like to help those Who need.

My ideal job

Hi everyone this time I will talk about my ideal job, really I have many ideal jobs its hard to decided well I tell you some options for me.

I like meeting people, new places, eat new foods, so my dream job is to work on a television show about met countries and cultures, food. The name of the show would be "race to world" I have skills for this job I'm sociable, friendly, respectful and I like adventures. 

I think that work is good for everyone, who doesn't like to have vacation all year?  but particularly for me is a good and ideal  job because I would know more about the world, the culture of other countries, and i'm studying geography and this can be a big tool.  

One of the serious difficulties is taste too exotic food, like monkey meat, I think that would bring me problems because sometimes I'm a little fussy, another difficulty is the danger because you can have problems with people (well you can not always expect the best reaction of the people ) some accident when you travel.  the best way to understand the world is feel it. 

I want to mention another ideal job would be taster ice- cream really  I love ice-cream and never get bored! 

My experience at High school

My school experience was amazing .. it was one of the best times of my life . I remember a lot of happiness, because there I met my best friends and learned a lot. I studied at "American British School" it was a huge school with many students . As a child, I was a bad girl ..I was very naughty, I remember having more than 3 sheets with negative comments about me and my mom always had to see the principal. I promised that I would change, when I was in second year I  felt calm jaja, Even though I had a bad behavior always got good marks, except in mathematics  and  physics, always was cost a little more difficult. My favorite subjects were history, art and biology, always I hated mathematics and physics . I lived near the school, but I always came late to class  that cost me many school suspensions. In 2009 I had my school trip and what a great time, I met many people . I have many funny stories about highschool.  One of the many antics was in science class  we had to dissect a cow heart, but I had a frozen heart.. and went to the teachers room (in secret) and put the heart in the microwave to thaw and leave for 45 minutes, when I returned the heart was cooked and the smell was sooo disgusting of course I ran and let the heart at the scene of the crime . Another of my adventures was changing  the class book marks, I pretended to be sick  for  go to for  nursing and escaping from school I was never caught jajaj. My last problem was when we were  playing with my friends  we broke a window accidentally and we had to pay .

I do not remember having a boring day of classes, I would like to go back to school days

Being a 19-year-old-woman in Chile

Since memorable times, the inclusion of women in society has been hard. But today we can see a changes....in Chile, it is possible to observe a number of disadvantages and advantages of the female role in society .   

Some advantages of being a 19 year old woman is the energy  and vitality  to do things and the ability to decide because in Chile when you have 18 years ..you are an adult .Women are responsible, careful, dedicated to our work. When you go to parties ( especially to clubs)  you never pay for something  .Usually  when you are a woman and you have a dates  .. you don't need to pay .. because a gentleman pays for you .(if he doesn't y.. let it go).  Another advantage is we can  get a license to cry  wherever  we want!!  Sometimes it is  easier to  get what we want because we have the  capacity to manipulate the male sex. Another advantage is  we are multi-functional, we can study, work, be a mom.Generally, all society feels a respect for women,but  the best thing about being a woman is the capacity  to be a mother .. that is the biggest gift.

About Disadvantages in Chile unfortunately, at work we are overshadowed by males .. because they (men)receive a higher salary for the same job .. another disadvantage in Chile, is the value of health plans, when you are a woman it much more expensive!!! other disadvantage is that usually the parents are very protective with women.. (In my case my parents are very overprotective).Another disadvantage .. when you are woman, you can experience changes of mood .and sometimes we lose our temper, above all, when we live chaotic situations   but nobody like us can laugh and cry at the same time ..

My topic

In my presentation I will  talk about  volcanoes ( I think that it a very interesting phenomenon to discuss because they are phenomena that act in silence and that can trigger disasters). volcanos are  an opening, or rupture, in a planet's surface or crust, which allows hot magma, volcanic ash and gases to escape from the magma chamber below the surface. Volcanoes are generally found where tectonic plates are diverging or converging. Some types of volcanoes  are : 

-Submarine volcanoes

-Subglacial volcanoes

But the most awesome are volcanoes called "Supervolcanoes" a supervolcano is a large volcano that usually has a large caldera and can potentially produce devastation on an enormous, sometimes continental, scale. The example of this is the Yellowstone volcano.
I would like mention a most famous eruption  ..  the "Mount Vesuvius" ,many people say this is a legend but i think its true.. many exiting  studies are  say the same In the year of 79 AD, Mount Vesuvius erupted in one of the most catastrophic and famous
eruptions of all time burying the cities of Pompeya and Herculomo.Geographers can make maps showing areas at risk in the event that a volcano erupts  to help prevent people from falsely believing they are not at risk when living on or near a volcano, countries have adopted new classifications to describe the various levels and stages of volcanic activity.

About the reality national.
Chile have more than 3000 volcanoes, of which 500 of them are active. An example of how devastating these phenomena was the Volcano Explosion "Chaiten" which caused the destruction of the village.
